The Randallstown Network Toastmasters Club #6805 began in January, 1988. The Club meets in Pikesville, MD at the Springhouse Manor Care Assisted Living facility. Currently, our club is one of the leading clubs in all of Toastmasters. As a member of Toastmasters, you learn by doing, observing others, and from periodic educational sessions that our members deliver. Our club belongs to an area ( a group of clubs); the area is part of a division (a group of areas); the division is part of a district (District 18). There are about 75 districts in all of Toastmasters International which is a worldwide organization.
A typical toastmasters meeting consists of three parts: prepared speeches, table topics and evaluations. When you first join the club, you will receive a basic communications and leadship manual. In this manual, you will receive instructions which will prepare you to deliver 10 speeches.
Every six months, we have speech contest: the humorous speech contest in the fall and the inspirational speech contest in the spring. The latter one ends with the recognition of the World Champion of Public Speaking. We are happy to have as one of our members, the 1999 World Champion of Public Speaking, Craig Valentine. Craig has now turned his speaking skills into his fulltime career. If you want to read about Craig, you can go to www.craigvalentine.com.
We invite you to come visit us and decide for yourself if you would like to join us on our self-improvement journey.'
